My husband and I are forever grateful to Laura's Hope Foundation for approving us for a grant in 2021. High school sweethearts who married in 2004, we spent years hoping to build our family. After being diagnosed with endometriosis in 2016 and losing my right ovary and fallopian tube, we feared our dream of becoming parents might never come true.
In 2019, we welcomed our beautiful son, only to learn he had sickle cell disease. Just four months later, in April 2020, we experienced the unimaginable loss of our precious baby boy. Our world was shattered.
As we navigated our grief, our doctor encouraged us to apply for a Laura's Hope grant. We were awarded one round of IVF, and with the unwavering support of Dr. Gago and her team, we began our journey once again. Three embryos were created, and after transferring one in March 2022, we received the news we had been praying for. On October 4, 2022, we welcomed our rainbow baby, Zion.
