How Laura's Hope Grant Works

For fertility treatment recipients, Gago IVF donates approximately 90% of fertility services, with approximately 10% covered through applicable insurance benefits.

Because these fertility services are donated or covered through insurance, 100% of funds donated to Laura's Hope are used toward eligible outside expenses that may be part of a recipient's path to building a family.

Laura's Hope funding may help with:

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must have experienced a documented fetal loss >12 weeks, neonatal or infant loss, with no intervening live births, or patients with documented recurrent pregnancy loss.
Applicants must be residents of the State of Michigan or Ohio for at least 1 year, and must maintain adequate living arrangements (lease or own a residence).
Applicants must provide three years of tax returns to demonstrate income and verification of current employment.
Must have basic health insurance for mother and baby with sufficient prenatal coverage.
Applicants must be less than 55 years of age, and couples with a cumulative age <111 years.
Applicants must be of good physical and mental health, and reasonable financial position to raise a child. Documentation such as a letter from a reproductive counselor is required for donor gametes or embryos. Legal contracts as part of usual reproductive care are also required. Applicants with potential medical/mental health issues will need to provide testing and documentation of suitability to carry a pregnancy and raise a child.
Required Medical Documentation: Ovarian reserve testing (including AMH, CD#3 FSH, LH, E2, Antral Follicle Count) within 12 months; Uterine evaluation within 6 months and tubal evaluation within 1 year; Semen analysis (for sperm providers) within 1 year of treatment.
It is highly recommended that the applicant have a consultation with an infertility specialist in the State of Michigan to determine the most successful route of family building.

Selection Process

Applications are reviewed by our 7-person board (which includes medical professionals such as physicians and nurses). The board assesses applications based on financial need, medical suitability, and the overall likelihood of success with the chosen route for family building.

What Grants Cover: Grants vary and may include donated egg retrievals, embryo transfer cycles, as well as financial assistance for genetic testing, medications, adoption, gestational carriers, grief support, and more.

Medical Considerations: Body weight, age, and medical clearance for pregnancy are considered to ensure ideal candidacy. Patients carrying a pregnancy must have medical clearance and a BMI under 40 (unless utilizing a gestational carrier).
